Born 2/4/1955, Hillsboro, Oregon. Parents were Forrest "Frosty" and Nelda Henning.
Passed away 3/14/2015, Portland, Oregon.
She attended St. Agatha's from 5th through 8th grades; 1965 through 1969, and LaSalle High School, Milwaukie, her freshman year, completing her high school years at Cleveland High School, Portland.
She learned to play the organ and did so on Easter including other Sundays when needed at St. Agatha Catholic Church.
Janis was also quite an athlete, playing both softball and basketball & taking State one year.
On August 27, 1978, she married the love of her life, Gary. They were a team in all respects.
She was administrative assistant for the sales department at North Pacific Timber Products.
Janis was always a high achiever. She was a loving daughter and sister and cared for a nephew and nieces for many years.
She is survived by her husband Gary, mother Nelda, step-father Keith Richey, step-brother Cliff Hazlett, aunt Charmalee Henning, cousins Cathie Henning and Maryanne Zener, as well as numerous other relatives.
The Celebration of Life will be held. Saturday, April 18, 2015 at 11:00 AM, St. Agatha Catholic Church, 1430 SE Nehalem St., Portland, OR 97202.
Private inurnment will be at the Willamette National Cemetery, Portland.
