J.C. Hawthorne

Mr. J.C. Hawthorne was born on April 23, 1925 in Newton, Texas, the son of Joe and Carutha Hawthorne. Mr. Hawthorne was raised and educated in Buna, Texas. He served in the US Army from 1943 to 1945. In 1946 he moved to LaGrande, Oregon where he worked in a logging camp. He returned to Buna in 1978 where he lived until December of 2006 when he moved to Portland, Oregon. He is survived by his dauhgters: Vinie Bethune, Dianne Smith, and Delores Cuie; his sons: Johnny Hawthorne, Lenroe Hawthorne, Edward Hawthorne, Clarence Hawthorne, Rodney Hawthorne, and James Hawthorne; his sisters: Ruby McCain, Beady Carol, and Joanna Walker; his brothers: Lenroe Hawthorne, Edward Hawthorne, and Jerry Hawthorne; and by 21 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild and a host of other relatives and friends.
