Jerome Nathaniel Scott
September 26, 1954 — January 27, 2009
Jerome Nathaniel Scott was the first son and the second child of the late Henry and Bernice Scott. He was born on September 26, 1954 in Portland, Oregon.
He departed this life after a sudden illness on January 27, 2009. Jerome attended Immaculate Heart Elementary School and graduated from Benson Polytechnic High School.
As a teenager Jerome spent a lot of time working for his family owned business, Coast Industries, Inc., as a janitor.
In 1972 Jerome welcomed his first child, a daughter named June Alice. After the birth of his daughter, Jerome joined the United States Army, and dedicated three years of service and was very proud to have served his country. "He was a true soldier."
After Jerome's service time he returned back home to Portland, and went back to work for the family business, where he worked alongside his father, brothers, and uncles. Jerome did payroll and bookkeeping for over 20 years for Coast Industries.
In 1988 Jerome was married to Norma Jean Scott and later welcomed their son, Jonathan Jamal.
Jerome enjoyed spending time with his children, traveling, and watching his movies.
Jerome leaves to cherish his memory, his daughter June Alice Powell, son Jonathan Jamal Scott; and two beautiful granddaughters: Shantell and Brianna. He also leaves two brothers: Robert and Douglas Scott; and his sister Bernadette Artharee; along with many other family members and friends who will greatly miss him.
Jerome was a quiet and gentle person. He was also a very successful businessman, and most of all he was a loving father.
