Jessie Emma Quinn was born in Tylertown, Mississippi on January 30, 1931. She was the third oldest child born to Wright Brumfield, Sr. and Mary Elizabeth Collins.
Jessie grew up in the Rose of Sharon Church of God in Christ, and professed her love for Christ at an early age. She attended Carver High School in Tylertown.
Jessie was united in marriage to Jimmie Quinn in January of 1948 in Tylertown. This union spanned 63 years. The Quinn's were blessed with 13 children, three of whom preceded her in passing.
In 1973, Jessie and her husband moved to Portland, Oregon. She worked as a housekeeper and caregiver in Portland for many years.
She attended St. Luke Memorial C.O.G.I.C. under the leadership of Supt. Roosevelt Thomas, then attended Macedonia Temple C.O.G.I.C. under the leadership of Pastor Booker, and later returned to St. Luke Memorial C.O.G.I.C. under the leadership of Pastor Leanell Adams.
The Lord called Jessie Home to Glory on October 5, 2011 at the age of 80 years. She was preceded in death by her siblings: Lionel Brumfield, Claira Smith, and Annie Mae Guy. She leaves to celebrate her Homegoing, her husband, Jimmie; her children: Genelle Cooper, Mary Jackson, Bobby Quinn, Ray Quinn, Jean Sonnier, Charles Quinn, Jacqueline Johnson, Terry Quinn, Dennis Quinn, and Joseph Quinn; her brothers: Wright Brumfield, Jr. and Joe Sartin; her sisters: Lulla Mae Anderson, Melvina Jackson, and Irma Jean Badon; 26 Grandchildren, 44 Great-grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends. May our loss be Heaven's gain!
