Jimmie Quinn was born in Tylertown, Mississippi on August 15, 1931. He was the third oldest child born to Stennis Quinn and Dessie Smith.
Jimmie grew up in the Rose of Sharon C.O.G.I.C., and professed his love for Christ at an early age. He attended Tylertown School in Tylertown, Mississippi.
Jimmie was united in marriage to Jessie Emma Quinn in January of 1948, in Tylertown. This union spanned 63 years. The Quinn's were blessed with 13 children, three of whom preceded him in passing, along with his beloved wife Jessie Emma Quinn.
In 1973, Jimmie and his wife moved to Portland, Oregon. He worked at an asphalt company for many years, and worked at his own fruit stand.
Jimmie had a passion for fishing and he would do that most of his spare time.
Jimmie attended St. Luke Memorial C.O.G.I.C. under the leadership of Supt. Roosevelt Thomas; then attended Macedonia Temple C.O.G.I.C. under the leadership of Pastor Booker, and later returned to St. Luke Memorial C.O.G.I.C. under the leadership of Pastor Leanell Adams.
The Lord called Jimmie Home to Glory on May 28, 2012 at the age of 80 years. He was preceded in death by his wife: Jessie Emma Quinn; his siblings: Willie D. Quinn, Billie Quinn, and Wilbur Quinn. He leaves to celebrate his Homegoing, his children: Genelle Cooper, Mary Jackson, Bobby Quinn, Ray Quinn, Jean Sonnier, Charles Quinn, Jacqueline Johnson, Terry Quinn, Dennis Quinn, and Joseph Quinn; his brothers: R.D. Quinn, James Quinn, Bug Quinn, and Paul Quinn; his sisters: Lucy Mae Martin, Willa Mae Ratliff, Dessie Jean Smith, and Emma Lampton; 26 Grandchildren, 44 Great-grandchildren, 57 nieces and nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends. May our loss be Heaven's gain!
