Jimmy Dale Barrong

November 14, 1943 — January 28, 2013

Jim was called home on January 28, 2013. He was 69 years of age.
Jim was born November 14, 1943 at home in Altheimer, Arkansas to Willie Edward and Verna Leona (Clark) Barrong, the middle of five children. His family moved to Glendale, Oregon in 1951. He joined the Navy after graduating from Glendale High School at age of 17 where he was an electronic technician. Jim married the love of his life, Berleta Sue Long on June 19, 1965. They were blessed with two sons, Shawn and Michael. He worked for IBM for 30 years, and then owned NET Computer Consulting for 10 years. Jim was known for his love of family, golf and tinkering with home projects. He was a member of Lake Bible Church and Oregon Golf Association.
Jim is survived by his awesome wife of 47 years, Sue Barrong; two sons and spouses; Shawn & Jennie Barrong of Spokane and Michael & Sachi Barrong of Oregon City and their families, including 5 grandchildren; Tyler, Stephanie, Justin, Noah and Austin, siblings; Joy Shankle, Bill Barrong and Carol Lavonne Anderson and their families. Preceded in death by brother Don Barrong.
Jim will be buried with military honors, 9AM, Thursday, January 31st at Willamette National Cemetery in Portland. A memorial service will be on Friday, February 1 at 6:30 pm at Lake Bible Church in Lake Oswego.
