Jimmy Ray Vaughn Sr. Passed away on March 26th at the age of 65 from complications related to liver cancer. Mr Vaughn is survived by three children: Del Carmen Vasquez, Jimmy Ray Vaughn Jr. and Juan DeLocha Vaughn, eight grandchildren, and ten great grandchildren. From a young age Mr. Vaughn was always a "help people in need" type of person. He loved automobiles and fast cars. So he aspired and went to school with "Man Power" and graduated with the title of "Master Mechanic Technician".
Mr Vaughn married Mrs. Maria Celia Alvarez from Tamaulipas Mexico, from the small town of Reynosa. Mrs. Alvarez was born in Wesclo, Texas, the two met in Hillsboro, Oregon and married in Vancouver, Washington. He loved Star Trek with William Shatner, and Raymond Burr in Perry Mason. Mr. Vaughn worked at Jenkins Auto Service for up to twenty years, providing a cost effective repair service for people that couldn't afford much, and was willing to go to a house and help with your car if you couldn't make it to the auto repair shop. He provided this service to friends and family as well. His condition was an "out of the blue" situation, but through the last 3 weeks of being hospitalized his children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, siblings, relatives, and friends remained by his side though it all.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, April 13th, 1:00pm at Rose City Cemetery & Funeral Home, followed by a reception at 9901 SE Carruthers, Portland,OR, for a celebration of life for Jimmy Ray Vaughn Sr.
