Joan is survived by her devoted husband of 44 years, John;daughter, Linda (Craig) Condon; sons, David (Helen) Bamford and John (Donna Smith); grandchildren, Joel, Colin, Katie, Johnny, Henry and Matthew; brother, Fred Muir; sisters, Anita Fitsimmons and Sue Flowers. The family said a tearful yet thankful goodbye after Joana(TM)s long battle with her illness. Joana(TM)s love and memory will live on. She was a devoted & loving wife, mother and grandmother, and we all wish we had more time with her. Her love of children and animals was always apparent and knew no bounds. Birthdays were especially memorable events as her family waited with childlike anticipation of the special birthday cakes she created uniquely to our passions and hobbies for that year of our lives. Holidays were equally important in her life, and her family and friends were awed each year by her beautiful decorations and attention to every detail as she lovingly decorated her home, and made the most amazing meals for everyone to enjoy. In closing our family would like to thank The Wilsonville Assisted Living Facility. The entire faculty treated Joan and all of our family with great respect and helped make this difficult time a little easier.A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, June 8, 2007 at the Rose City Funeral Home, 5625 NE Fremont St., Portland.
