Joanitta Louise (Christ) Lomax
July 31, 1931 — November 13, 2014
Joanitta Louise Lomax passed away surrounded by her husband and children on November 13, 2014 at Portland Adventist Medical Center. Joanitta was born July 31, 1931 at St. Vincent’s Hospital in Portland to Luba and James P. Christ who emigrated from Tetova, Macedonia. She graduated from Jefferson High School in 1949. Joanitta married Leroy L. Lomax, Jr. at Mt. Tabor Presbyterian Church on April 19, 1958 and was a dedicated mother to Jeffrey, Chris and Kelley. Joanitta was most happy taking drives with her husband, talking about her children, and enjoying the company of her much loved extended family. She cherished family trips to Victoria BC, Puget Sound, Las Vegas, Eastern Oregon and a cruise to Alaska in 2012.
Joanitta is survived by her husband Leroy; children Jeffrey, Chris, Kelley and grandchildren Jordan and Madison Lomax. Joanitta was preceded in death by her sister Virginia Bisio.
A private family gathering will be held on November 30, 2014. Memorial donations may be made to the Sharon Ghiglieri Fund at Adventist Medical Center, 10123 SE Market Street, Portland 97216 which provides nursing education. We are grateful to the wonderful nurses who cared for our mother.
