John Griffin Cadigan was born on January 14, 1961 in Billings, Montana to John Cadigan and Connie Griffin. He was educated in Portland, attending Benson and Roosevelt High Schools, Portland Community College, and I.T.T. Technical Institute. He graduated from I.T.T. Technical Institute in 1988 and earned his Associate Degree. In the 1980's he worked at various jobs as a Sous-chef. He had worked at the Benson Hotel in Dan and Louis Oyster Bar, Digger O'Dell's, Jakes, and Newport Bay. He and chef, Scott Kushner had contests at the Benson to see who could carve the best pumkins. After he graduated from I.T.T. Technical Institute, he worked as a technichian for Western Technical Services (now Westaff). John passed away on October 20, 2010 in Portland at the age of 49 and is survived by his children: Erika Cadigan and Ian Cadigan; his mother and step-father Connie and Dennis Bigelow; and by his sisters: Julie Lekberg, Darcy Cadigan, and Misty Westcott.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm, Saturday, November 6, 2010 at Rose City Funeral Home, followed by a scattering ceremony at Laurelhurst Park Lake.
