John Erling Johansen

John E. Johansen Jr. passed away May 18, 2009 in Lake Oswego, Oregon. He was 62. John was born May 20, 1946 to Marjorie and John E. Johansen Sr. in Portland, Oregon. John graduated from Madison High School. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science and Master of Business Administration from Portland State University. He received his Doctorate degree in Law at Willamette Law School and graduated in the top five of his class. He practiced law for 23 years. John honorably served in the Air National Guard for six years. John had a passion for cars and especially enjoyed being an active member of the Portland Porsche Club. He enjoyed traveling and spending time with his friends and family. John loved life and every moment that was given to him. He had an enthusiasm that was contagious and a heart that was always extended. He made everything seem easy and encouraged everyone he was around. John's zest for life and love of others will forever be with us. He was married to Cheryl Haley Johansen for many years. In 2004 he married the love of his life, Elaine Pope Johansen. His father preceded him in death. He is survived by his Mother, Marjorie, wife Elaine, brothers Martin and Gary (Jill) and sister Linda Hastings (Swede). Also survived by his daughter Tiffany, son John, stepdaughter Candice Sorenson (Jason) and stepson John Pope. John was dearly loved and will be greatly missed.
