Judy B. Williams was a woman who, for the majority of her life, helped veterans. For over 35 years, she was an employee of the Department of Veterans Affairs. Starting as a file clerk she was promoted until for decades, she was an adjudicator, a person who helped veterans directly figure out claims. She would also organize documentation for said claims before they went to the rater.
As a young child, her family moved to a 45-acre farm at Sherwood, Oregon. She learned the joys(?) of farming through planting, weeding and canning an acre of garden as well as orchard harvests; feeding chickens, rabbits, pigs and cattle; and stacking wood for burning that her dad cut from their timber.
As soon as she was old enough, she moved into town and never looked back.
Judy loved animals. While growing up she had access to a neighbor’s horse and loved every moment. She never lost that love. She always had cats and/or dogs in her household who were spoiled with love. (Her last little pug mix of 12 years now resides with her sister and will do so the rest of his life.)
She loved crafts. She crocheted and knitted until her hands made it impossible for her to continue. Her first love, though, was cross stitch. For decades she worked and gave away beautiful pictures many times using her own color choices and pattern changes. She always had some project going.
Judy married John H. Williams and had one child Chloeann. Unfortunately, John passed away in 2003 and Chloe in 2012. She missed them a lot as did her sisters and niece and nephew and John’s family.
Judy arranged for the ashes of John and Chloe to remain together with her. At her death, she has been reunited with them. They are together in one urn now residing at Rose City Cemetery.
Rest in Peace, Judy, John and Chloe. You are missed.
