KEVIN MARVIN GRIGSBY WAS BORN DECEMBER 30TH 1960, at Emanuel Hospital in Portland, Or
to Leonard & Carrie L. Grigsby of Portland, OR
Kevin was the youngest of 4, and was the biggest, weighing in at a whopping 10 lb 15 oz.
His oldest Sister (Charles Etta d.) Considered Kevin her baby and would take him with her to the
Navy Ships when they were in town. He did no wrong in her eyes.
Kevin attended Boise Elementary School and Graduated from Andrew Jackson High school
where he excelled in sports. Not only did Kevin play baseball,
he was an excellent basketball player as well.
Kevin’s favorite car was his Green Vega, which he was very proud.
After Graduating High school, Kevin went on to attend Lewis and Clark College.
He later started working at FMC (Ford Motor Company) where he really enjoyed working until racism and
the fear for his life forced him to leave.
As some of you know, Kevin was a free spirit. The only place you could reach him was at Church.
At a young age Kevin and his friends Phillip, Vincent,
Sissy, Kay (the crew) would get together and play church. Kevin and Phillip pretended to be the preachers,
later on the playing became a reality. Kevin loved to preach the Word and would get so excited when
he had a revelation, he would get tongue-tied just trying to explain it to you,
his enthusiasm was very inspiring.
In 1984, Kevin had his first child, Keisha, He was a proud father and loved her very much!
Kevin was also blessed with a son Kevin C. Grigsby.
Through his perilous time in his life, our fathers grace was sufficient,
and with our fathers permissive will he met and married his wife of 31 years Angie Richardson.
Kevin and Angie were blessed with 6 beautiful sons. He also loved and cherished
Angie’s son Gabriel like his own.
Kevin served as a Minister and TV Evangelist for Prayer Center Church of God in Christ. He also directed
his sons as the lead control room operator for Prayer Center Variety Gospel Hour, at Portland Cable Access
for 22 years. He also directed with his sons for Pastor Mary Smith Television Ministry for many years.
Kevin was also a very dedicated employee for Albertson Distribution Center
where he retired after 28 years.
Through the guidance of the Most High Kevin found his Hebrew heritage.
In 2016 Kevin fell ill and was rushed to the hospital, there he had a near death experience, and awoke repenting
of all sins he had committed. He was released home and lived longer then the doctors foresaw for his life.
However, as his health declined he grew closer to his the Most High and truly
learned how to live a set apart life.
In the early morning of March 26, 2018 our heavenly father sent his angels to get his
tired faithful servant.
Kevin leaves to mourn his wife Angie Grigsby and their sons Gabriel Hinton, Kevin E, Nevin, Michael, David,
Joseph and Jeremiah Grigsby. He also leaves his beloved daughter Keisha Grigsby and son Kevin C. Grigsby.
His brother Ernest Grigsby, sister Robin Washington, niece Angela Turner and a host of family and friends.
