Lucille Marie Tolston

Born March 30 ^th , 1926 at 11:00PM in Pace, Mississippi, her parents were Bertha Washington and James Whitfield. In 1944 she left New Orleans, Louisiana by train and traveled to Portland, Oregon. She shortly lived in Vanport, then moved to Portland.

Lucille was trained and worked as a certified welder and worked at the Swan Island and Vancouver shipyards.

In 1953 she married Carroll Tolston, and had three children, Michael, Jeffrey, and Gregory. Carroll Tolston preceeded her in death after 38 years of marriage.

Lucille had a host of children whom she cared for from time to time. They lovingly called her "Aunt Lucille" or "Auntie". And all of her children were considered "cousins" of these children.

She had various jobs during her lifetime, a certified welder, bartender, accountant, hotel maid, and finished her career as a janitor for Coast Janitorial.

She is survived by two sons, Michael and Jeffrey, six grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. Lucille was a friend to many and she will be missed.
