Marilyn Ardis Walz

Marilyn Ardis Walz was born on April 3, 1934 to Nathaniel and Ardis Sjolander. She was a member of Temple Baptist Church while she was growing up. A lifelong Portland resident, she was a graduate of Jefferson High School. As a young woman she had worked as a secretary, and was a homemaker for most of her life. She loved the idea of "winning big". She loved getting her hair done, dressing up, going to parties, and giving gifts. She had an ability to remember all of the details about her children. She was preceded in death by her twin sister Carolyn Sjolander. She died on August 22 at the age of 73 and is survived by her children: Debbie Smeraglio, Blair Walz, Pamela Quartero, and Sophie Howerton; her sister, Linda Sjolander; and nine grandchildren.
