Marion Josephine Clausen

Jo Hill was born October 14, 1922 in La Grande, Oregon. She was married to John Wesley Clausen for 64 years. He preceded her in death in 2003. She was a graduate of Portland State University and taught in the Portland Public School system.
Jo was a gardener, cinnamon roll maker, pie baker, canner, bee keeper, seamstress, knitter, avid reader, crossword puzzle expert, wise adviser, confidence keeper and Sunday school teacher. Her Christian faith and love for her family were integral parts of her life.
Survivors include her five daughters and sons-in-law; Mari Jo and John Binford, Barbara and Skip Newell, Esther and Bob Pyle, Betty and Rich Halley, June and Rob Dressler; her sister Pat Green; 13 grandchildren; and 12 great grandchildren. The family appreciates the wonderful care provided to her by the staff of Markham House. Remembrances may be directed to St. Michael & All Angels Episcopal Church, Portland.
