Marjorie Amanda Axtell
June 6, 1912 — February 29, 2008
Marjorie Amanda Axtell was born on June 6, 1912 in Enterprise, Oregon, the daughter of John and Mary Young. She was raised and educated in Portland and was a 1930 graduate of Parkrose High School, and graduated from Good Samaritan Nursing School in 1934.
She had worked as a registered nurse at St. Helen's Hospital, and then in 1949 she moved to Riverside, California where she worked as an RN at a physician's clinic. She returned to Oregon in 1980 living in Woodburn and then to Milwaukie in 1987. She was a member of the Oakgrove Methodist Church. Marjorie died on February 29, 2008 in Milwaukie at the age of 95. She is survived by her half-sister Donna Jean Archer and her half-brother John Charles Young, and by numerous nieces and nephews.
