Matthew G. Stupey

Matthew Gordon Stupey, 48, born to Laurence and Kay Stupey on October 22, 1965, passed away March 8, 2014 in his hometown of Portland, Oregon. Matthew is survived by his two older brothers; Mike and Paul Stupey, his two older sisters; Mary Kay Sanders and Tricia Smith, his twin sister Melody Stupey, and his pride and joy, eighteen year old daughter, Helena.
Matthew Stupey was raised in Southeast Portland and graduated from David Douglas High School. He later attended Pacific Northwest College of the Arts. He was a local chef extraordinaire, entrepreneur, and supporter of local artists. Matthew believed wholeheartedly in loving life and all of the little pleasures it has to offer, the sweet stuff from all of life’s work, the “sugar from the bone.”
The celebration of life will be Sunday, March 16th at Utopia on 33rd and Belmont from 5 pm to 9 pm. Please bring your stories of how he touched your lives and celebrate him just as he would have it.
