Minnie B. Williams

Minnie B. Williams, 83, passed away on January 5, 2009. She was born on July 25, 1925 in Spearsville, Louisiana to Fred Adams and Clara Mae Parlor. In 1943, she moved to Portland, Oregon to work in the shipyards. Minnie met Raymond in Vanport City, Oregon and they were married on October 19, 1946 in Vancouver Washington. Minnie, who loved country living moved with her family in 1960 to Oregon City. She was a homemaker while her husband worked as a barber, a railroad worker and as a machinist at the Boeing Company of Portland.
Her interests included gardening, quilting, cooking, baking and listening to music. She enjoyed having church picnics at her home. Minnie was well known for her home-made southern style tea-cakes, chow chow, lemonade, peppermint ice cream, veggie burgers and sweet potato pies.
Minnie is survived by her husband of 62 years Raymond C. Williams, her 4 children Willie Ray, Linda Sims, Sheila and Anthony, and her brother A. D. Adams. Minnie was blessed with 6 grandchildren; and 10 great grandchildren.
Minnie will be remembered for her beautiful smile and loving personality. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
