Patricia Kay Hunter/Mitchell was born on March 7th, 1952 in Portland, Oregon. She was adopted by Richard and Birdie Hunter. Patricia graduated from Grant High School in 1970, then she went to Nursing School at Portland State and graduated in 1974. She enjoyed her career as a registered nurse in orthopedics at Portland Providence for over 30 years. She was married to Robert Mitchell in 1977 and had two daughters, Chelsea in 1981 and then Courtney in 1984. In 2002 her first grandchild Loren was born. Then Alex was born in 2009, followed by Michael, Kaylynn in 2010 and finally Evan in 2013. Patricia loved being around her family, especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, reading Anne Rule books, and gardening.
In 2012 Patricia was diagnosed with stage IV cancer and retired from nursing. She was able to go to Hawaii with her sister Linda, brother Mike and his wife Sheryl. There were many trips with family to the beach which was one of her favorite places. She also made it on a cruise to Mexico in April 2013, her first out of country trip. The last year and a half were filled with many happy memories with family and friends. She was a very gentle soul with a warm heart who never said a bad word about anyone. Her smile was always on her face, and did not complain even through her battle with cancer. She will live in the hearts of those she touched forever.
