Penelope "Penny" Phillips

Our angel Penelope (Penny) Lynnette DuBois-Phillips came to earth on July 30th 1975. She returned to heaven on October 27th 2021. Penny went to join the other angels that are no longer with us. Her father, Thomas J. DuBois, Grandfather Lloyd LeClair, Grandmother Odessa McDonald, Mother-In-Law Lemurel Foster, Nephew Christopher Marcell, Niece Johnya Marcell, and all the other angels that are gone but not forgotten

Penny now watches over her loved ones still here on earth. Her beloved husband and children, Askia (Sonni), Jazkia (Jazzy), Asim, and Askia II (Scooter) Phillips. Her grandmother May LeClair, parents Josua and Juanita Mara, siblings Thomas DuBois, Dawn Griggs/DuBois, Holly DuBois, Rebekah, Alisi, Pualani, Merewalesi, and Ratu Mara, James DuBois and Taryn Major/Dubois. As well as all of her nieces, nephews, cousins and other loved ones.

Penny’s time on earth was like watching a beautiful fireworks show that you never want to end. Her life had highs and lows, but through it all she continued to smile that beautiful smile of hers and kept being the loving angel that she was. Her loving spirit should be a guide for all of us she now watches over, and show us how to love each other every day that we have on this earth. Because like Penny said so many times. Tomorrow Is Not Promised.

She will be missed every minute of every day.

I AM POEM

I am a Mom

I wonder how my kids are growing up so fast

I hear them constantly calling for me

I see them growing up

I want them to stay little forever

I am a Mom

I pretend sometimes that they’ll be little forever

I feel heaviness in my heart

I touch back into reality

I worry that they’ll always be safe

I cry when they get hurt

I am a Mom

I understand they won’t be young forever

I say I love you

I dream of their futures

I try to make sure they’re always happy

I hope for the best for them

I AM A MOM.
