Phyllis Mae (McFarlane) Overberg

Phyllis was born February 26, 1924 to James and Delphos McFarlane in Antigo Wisconsin. She moved to Portland at the age of three where she was raised with her sister Jean and her brother Frank on NE Skidmore Street.
After graduating from Grant High School in 1942 Phyllis worked at the Bank of California until she met and married Gordon Overberg. Phyllis and Gordon built a home on Skidmore Street where they raised three daughters, Susan, Diane and Sharon. After raising her children Phyllis returned to work at US Bank for 15 years.
Phyllis was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church for over 50 years. Phyllis’s greatest joy was her family that has grown from 3 daughters to 6 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
Phyllis was preceded in death by her husband Gordon and her daughters Susan and Diane. Phyllis resided at Powell Valley Assisted Living and Memory Care for her last 10 years where she received loving care.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, September 4th at 2:00 pm at Rose City Funeral Home.
