Raymond Clarence Williams

Raymond C. Williams passed away on May 6, 2017. He was born on September 25, 1922 in Leesburg, Texas to Eugene and Louie Williams (Lewis). In 1938 he went to barber college, in Tyler Texas. In 1942 he moved to Portland, Oregon to work in the shipyards. Raymond met Minnie B Adams in Vanport City, Oregon and they were married on October 19, 1946 in Vancouver, Washington. Raymond and his wife loved country living and they moved their family to a small farm in Oregon City in 1960. Raymond worked at the Union Pacific Railroad and he worked part-time as a barber.  He later worked as a machinist at Boeing of Portland for 24 years. Some of Raymond’s interests included fishing, basketball, dominoes and farming.

Raymond was preceded in death by his loving wife, Minnie B Williams of 62 years. He is survived by his four children, Willie R. Williams Sr.; Linda Sims; Sheila Williams and Anthony Williams.  He was blessed with 7 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. Raymond was also survived by his brother Willie Lee Williams (Texas) and preceded by his sisters, Louie Jean Gipson and Ruby Woods (Texas).

Raymond will be remembered for his infectious smile, bubbly personality and his sparkling blue eyes.  He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
