Born in Portland, Oregon, Dick retired before the age of 40. In route, he was a Lifeguard, Woodsmen, Marine, Property Owner, Builder, Investor, Teacher, Juvenile Court Councilor, and Jack of all trades. He enjoyed all that Cannon Beach, Maui and Portland had to offer. His song, positive attitude, diversity, sense of humor, can do attitude, resourcefulness, loyalty, and willingness to give his time and talents freely, garnered him countless friends.
He is survived by his best friend and wife of 41 years, Lorrie Rankin, mother in law, Kiyo Shioshi, Brother in law, Roger Shioshi, Cousins, Judy Brugger and Rodney Lyman,
nieces and nephews and cherished friends.
Friends are invited to gather, bring their smiles, casual (beach/aloha) attire, and stories to the Irvington Tennis Club Ballroom at 2:00pm on October 4, 2009.
In memory of this one of a kind man, please perform acts of random kindness in true "Rankin Style".
