Robert W. Lawson, Sr.

Robert William "Bob" Lawson was born to Johnny Lawson, Sr. and Margaret Locke on May 8, 1948 in Fordyce, Arkansas. The family moved to Portland in 1955 and Bob attended Elliott and Boise Grade Schools, and Jefferson High School. He had also attended Portland Community College in their Drug and Alcohol Counseling program. Bob had worked for a number of different employers including Fred Meyer's, Barker Manufacturing, and the Port of Portland before ilness forced him to retire in 2005. He was a member of New Hope Missionary Baptist Church and was baptized there in 2001. He passed away at his home in Portland on February 16 at the age of 59. He was preceded un death by his brother Dale Goldsby. He is survived by his children: Robert Lawson, Jr., Keisha Lawson, Dondra Lawson, and Mattie Lawson; his siblings: Andrew Locke, Annie Lee, Faye Lawson, Junie Lawson, Johnny Lawson, Jr., Evelyn Mason, Fred Lawson, and Charlotte Reese; and by four grandchildren.
