Robert “Bob” Burrell Nicholson
Graveside Services will be held, 10:30, Tuesday, February 17 th , 2015 at Rose City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9am – 10am prior to committal. Bob passed away in Portland on February 11 th , he was 80 years old.
Bob was born August 18, 1934 in Loveland, Colorado, the third of seven children born to Walter J. and Nora (Chessmore) Nicholson. The family moved to Oregon in 1942 and Bob graduated from Estacada High School, class of 1952. A few years later, 1954 he joined the US Army and served during the Korean Conflict being honorable discharged. While in the Army he was part of the Pistol Team at Ft. Ord, California, 6 th Infantry and was an expert marksman with the 1911. He was a longtime truck driver, diving logging, food service, regional and a route runner to Canada. Bob enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, golf, bowling as was a instructor for hunter safety. He married Marl’ee Jane Mosher August 31, 1967, in Portland. She preceded him in death in 2009.
He is survived by his grandchildren, siblings; Bill Nicholson and Shirley Forrest.
