Robert died on Christmas Day from congestive heart failure. He was born in Tule Lake Internment Camp, Newell, CA. to Masao and Masumi Takeuchi and is survived by wife Joyce; stepdaughters, Vicky and Cindy (Rick); five step grandchildren; brother, Donald (Annie); sisters, Nancy, Kathy (Mike); five nieces and nephews, and was preceded in death by his brother, Melvin.
Robert attended Parkrose High School and upon graduation, joined the Air Force. While stationed at Tachikawa Air Base, Japan, he attained the rank of Staff Sargent and was an aircraft mechanic during the Viet Nam war. After serving in the military, Robert owned a gas station (Takeuchi's Gateway Service) on 102nd and Halsey, Portland, Oregon. He also sold real estate for a time and worked at 7-Eleven stores for several years.
A funeral service is scheduled for Saturday, Jan. 9, 2015, 2 pm, at Rose City Funeral Home.
