Robert Alan Winters (Bobby) was born March 26th, 1963, in Portland, Oregon to James and Patricia Winters.
Bobby grew up in North Portland, where he attended Peninsula Grade School and was very active in sports at the Columbia Boys Club. After graduating from Peninsula, Bobby attended Benson High School.
Like his father, University of Portland Basketball Hall-of-Famer, James W. Winters I, Bobby loved sports. He played on the 1981 Benson High School State Championship basketball team and was recently inducted into the Benson High School Hall of Fame with his former teammates. After his graduation from Benson, Bobby attended Clark College in Vancouver, WA on a basketball scholarship. It was during this time that Bobbya(TM)s love of music began to emerge. He, his brother Tony, and lifetime childhood friend Darnell Love, led two bands: "Visions" and the late eighties funk foursome monster "ROMEO". In 1989 their band Romeo embarked on a musical tour that took them half way around the world.
In 1990 Bobby was briefly married to Trina Cogdill. To this union was born his first beautiful son, Alexander. In 1991 Bobby met his soulmate, Sadie Beckham. Their union brought three precious children to our family; Zachary, Olivia and Haylee.
We lost our beloved brother on April 30th, 2007. He was preceded in death by our dear parents James and Patricia Winters.
Bobby is survived by his sister, Cheryl, brothers, James II and Tony, his children; Alexander, Zachary, Olivia, Haylee, nieces, Latisha and Brooke, nephew Anthony, and a host of aunta(TM)s, unclea(TM)s and cousins.
