Rog was born in Ray, N.D. to Ole and Anna (Stalheim) Knutson. He was raised in Portland and graduated from Franklin High School in 1941. He joined the U.S. Army on Dec. 08, 1941 and served in Germany for the duration of World War II. He graduated from Lewis and Clark College and did his graduate work at the University of Washington. He spent most of his working career at White Stag and Jantzen. Rog was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Harriet Werschkul; brothers, Orville and Maurice Knutson; and niece, Karen Crossman. He is survived by his wife, Jean Marie. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Feb. 18 at 2 p.m. at the Warren Community Church on Hwy. 30 (56523 Columbia River Hwy Warren, OR 97053). Memorial contributions can be made on Rog's behalf to Legacy Hopewell House Hospice in Portland or the Columbia Humane Society in St. Helens.
