Ronald Frank Holbrook was born in Portland, Oregon on October 15th, 1933. He was the son of Edward Frank Holbrook and Laura Shay Hastings Holbrook. He had two brothers, Larry Hastings and Robert Hastings. He was struck by a vehicle when he was two years old and was in the hospital for 20 months. Ron went to Grant High School and was a track star, and also a student of Portland State University. He served in the Army during the Korean War and many years for the Oregon National Guard. His mother owned a music and dance studio and Ron was a student and teacher. That is where he met his sweetheart Marilyn "Edginton" Holbrook. Together they got married and had 4 children, all boys. Ron had a great sense of humor and loved to play all kinds of games. He was a golfer and a tennis player until the age of 80. He played the Piano and loved to play bridge card games. He was an employee of the Post Office and has been retired for the last 25 years. After 8 years of fighting cancer he passed away at the Ray Hickey Hospice House on Saturday, April 9th at 8:30pm. He is survived by his 4 sons, many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, many cousins and families and many friends. He was 88 years young.
