Ronald Eugene Rhodes, age 75, of Portland, Oregon passed away on the 20th of October, 2024 at Legacy Emanuel Hospital. Ron was born on the 17th of September 1949 in Glendale, California to parents Eugene “Dusty” Rhodes and Bonnie Rhodes (nee Selander).
On the 3rd of August 1974, Ronald married Teresa Ruth Latourette at the Agnes Flanagan Chapel at Lewis and Clark College. Together they shared 50 years of marriage.
Ronald is survived by his spouse Teresa Rhodes and their children: Alexis Stephins (Bill); Lauren Powers (Devon); Grant Rhodes (Olivia Stone); brothers: Ken Rhodes (Pam), and Jim Rhodes (Sheila), grandchildren: Owen, Miles, Lola, and Stella and many nieces, nephews, cousins and other extended family. Ronald is preceded in death by his parents, Dusty and Bonnie.
A man of many talents, Ronald was an attorney for 30 years, a private practice mediator for 15 years, a whitewater and fly fishing guide for 20 years, and a volunteer youth soccer coach for 20 years. He was also a member of the Oregon State Bar and Phi Delta Theta and was a strong supporter of the Freshwater Trust.
Ronald lived his life along the west coast including Los Angeles, California, and in various cities in Oregon, including Grants Pass, Eugene and Portland.
His hobbies included fly-fishing, white-water rafting and camping, live music, reading and he was an avid sports enthusiast, specifically the Oregon Ducks football. He will be remembered well for his ability to captivate an audience with his storytelling.
