Rosemary was born on March 7th, 1919, in Lincoln, Nebraska. In 1933, she moved to Portland, Oregon with her mother and step-father Hazel and Elton Haase. Rosemary graduated from Franklin High School. In 1939, she married Jay Hollingsworth, a union that lasted 66 years, until his death in 2005. During the war, Rosemary worked at the Oregon Shipyards. Rosemary went on to hold a variety of other jobs, but her most valued time of employment was the years she spent working for the Portland Police Bureau from 1958 to 1981. Rosemary truly cherished the relationships and bonds that were cultivated with many of her co-workers which carried on long after retirement.
Everyone that met Rosemary was impressed by her compassion and thoughtfulness. She also turned many a head because of her stunning looks, which was easily matched by her inner beauty. Rosemary was very supportive of her son's and grandson's activities and always made time to attend their school and athletic activities.
Rosemary passed away on June 7th, 2009, at the age of 90. Rosemary is survived by her son's Jim and wife Ida, Steve and wife Karen, and two grandsons, Jason and Scott
