Mr. Roy Lee Harper

Mr. Roy Lee Harper was born in Sparta, Georgia, May 31, 1921, to the proud parents, Jerry and Matilda (Rhodes) Harper.
Mr. Harper married Sarah E. Moon (1938) and their union was blessed with three daughters. They moved to Portland, Oregon in 1942. Their children include; Carolyn Harper Freeman; Eristine E. Harper and Joanne R. Harper Harris (his daughter Joanne preceded him in death). His beloved wife, Sarah, also preceded him in death (December 1986).
Mr. Harper is also survived by five grandchildren; Vicky L. King, Alisa M. Harris, Marcus L. Harris an Michelle S. Stokes; and two great-grandchildren, Marcus L. Harris, Jr. and Jaylon Harris. He is also survived by three siblings: Joseph Harper, Jerry Harper, Jr. and Emma Jean (William) Hector. In addition, there are a host of other family and friends who will continue to miss his presence.
Mr. Roy Harper worked for Southern Pacific Railroad and served as the Executive Chef, retiring after 38 years of service. Mr. Harper later married Bettye Turner and she had two daughters and one granddaughter by a previous marriage. They moved to North Carolina.
