Ruth L. McKee

Ruth McKee passed away in the early morning hours of Feb 21, 2014. Ruth was born Nov 22, 1919 to Jacob Peter Larsen and Edla Johanna Byggmaster Johansson Oman in Portland Oregon, where she was raised. Ruth attended Commerce High School (now Cleveland HS). While she was working in Hood River as a civil servant, she met her future husband, Kenneth G McKee. They were married Aug 9,1941 in her mother's home in Portland Oregon. Ken and Ruth raised their sons and lived out their lives in the home that Ken built in SE Portland. Ruth was preceded in death by her husband Kenneth in 2003, her brother Robert in 1975, sister Jeanette in 2003 and grandson Thomas in 1973. She is survived by her children Richard McKee, and Bill McKee, of Milwaukee Oregon and Ronald and Janalee McKee of Everett Washington, 7 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren. Ruth will be missed by all those who knew her and loved her. The family would like to thank Ruth's caregivers at Martha and Mary Ministries, who kept her comfortable every step of her final journey. There will be a public viewing on Feb 24th from 1:00 to 1:30 pm with a graveside service starting at 2:00pm at Rose City Cemetery and Funeral Home, 5625 N.E. Fremont St. in Portland Oregon.
