Sarah Rose Amato

Sarah R. Amato, 98 of Portland died May 26, in Honokaa, HI. She was born to Joseph and Mary (Amato) Cacicia. She attended Abernathy School and graduated from Girls Polytechnic. She married James "Jimmy" Amato who was a local musician and band leader in 1934. They had three daughters. Sarah was an accomplished cook of whom a cookbook was created in her honor. She also enjoyed family, bingo and annual trips to Seaside, OR. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1965, her daughter Doris Boscola in 2005, her daughter Diane Partain in 2009 and her great grandson Bradley Sprout in 2012. She is survived by her daughter Karen (Corey) Harris of Honokaa, HI. 9 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren and 7 great great grandchildren. Visitation will be at noon, Monday, June 3rd, at St. Phillip Neri Catholic Church, with the Funeral to follow at, 1pm, Committal at the family's mausoleum at Rose City Cemetery.
