Sheryl Ann Wiley

December 6, 1951 — January 4, 2024

Sheryl Ann Wiley (Cline) was born December 6th, 1951, to Arthur & Mary Cline (Peterson). She attended Madison High School in Portland, Oregon. Sheryl married Charles in 1972, joining him at NAVSTA in Keflavik, Iceland – where he was stationed in the U.S. Navy – and she began work at the Navy Exchange as a bookkeeper. Her work as a bookkeeper continued for a company that was the precursor to COSTCO in New London, Connecticut when they moved to a new duty station on the USS Fulton AS-11. Following Charles’ discharge from the Navy, the couple returned to Portland. Sheryl then provided bookkeeping to Discount Fabrics before being recruited to join new ownership at a janitorial manufacturer Paulsen & Roles Labs, where she worked on bookkeeping & the creation of product catalogs.
Sheryl volunteered at the Portland International Airport as representative helping passengers who had questions or might be lost. She enjoyed being an ambassador for Portland. She was also engaged at Westminster Presbyterian Church as a Deacon and served on the Board of Trustees.
Sheryl had a passion for gardening – she started flowers & vegetables from seeds, harvested & saved seeds for the following season. She enjoyed baking & was known to share various batches of delicious cookies with family, neighbors & friends throughout the year at holidays & celebrations.
She is survived by her spouse Charles; eldest son Eric, daughter-in-law Dimitrina & grandchildren Ivan & Marius. A grandchild, Abbott, is the child of Sheryl’s deceased son, Scott (d. 2018).
Sheryl’s life will be celebrated at a memorial service at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 1624 NE Hancock Street in Portland, Oregon, on Saturday, March 9th, 2024 at 10:30 am.
In lieu of flowers, those who wish may make contributions in Sheryl’s name to Doernbecher Children’s Hospital.
