Shirley Faye Chan

August 19, 1935 — February 7, 2016

Shirley Faye Chan was born on August 19, 1935 to Jewell and Edna Ward.  Shirley was born in a logging camp in Arkansas and moved with her family to Springfield, OR when she was a young girl.  It was there that she attended and graduated from Springfield High School in 1954.  After graduation Shirley moved to Portland, OR and began work as a teller at the stadium branch of U.S. Bank.  After a five year courtship she married Lawrence Chan Jr. on July 15, 1963 and was happily married for over 53 years.  Shirley is survived by her husband Dr. Lawrence Chan Jr., son Craig Chan, and daughter Lisa Largent, along with grandchildren Steven, Lisa, Dustin, Brian, Morgan, Michael, and Trinity and great grandchildren Marley and Melody.  A memorial luncheon will be held to celebrate her life at the Super King Buffet restaurant on 5015 SE 82nd Avenue on Friday, February 26, 2016 from 2:00pm to 4:00pm.
