Teruko Mayeda

June 10, 1918 — July 21, 2007

Mrs. Mayeda was born June 10, 1918. She was raised and educated in California and moved to Japan as a teenager. She married Kaoru Mayeda in 1939. He died in 1990
During the war years, Mrs. Mayeda was interned in Minidoka, Idaho.
After her liberation, Mrs. Mayeda resettled in Portland with her family and operated the Wyoming and Rich hotels in SW Portland. She also worked at the Galleria Shopping Center in downtown Portland. Mrs. Mayeda retired in 1988.
Mrs. Mayeda was a member of the Nichiren Buddist Church, Johrei Fellowship and Nichiren Fujinkai.
Survivers include her son Richard (Yumiko) Mayeda of Portland, daughter Alice (Hayao) Miyake of Boring, grandchildren Crystal Miyake and Jim Downie of Damascus, Justin Miyake, Jennifer Mayeda, Joey Mayeda and Tiffany Mayeda all of Portland.

She will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
