Thomas G. Kiriakedis was born to Greek immigrants on October 21st, 1924 in Portland, OR. He spent several years of his childhood in Greece, where he learned to read and write Greek fluently. In 1943 he graduated from Portlanda�(TM)s Washington High School. Immediately after graduation, he joined the US Army where he served in the South Pacific. He was discharged from the Army in 1946, and attended Pacific University in Forest Grove on a music scholarship. In 1950 he graduated with a degree in Business. While attending Pacific University he began his business career. During his life he owned and operated a tavern, auto dealership, smoke shop, hotel, several apartment buildings, and three grocery stores. In addition to his business career, he was a volunteer at Emanuel Hospital for over ten years. He passed away due to heart failure August 17th, 2007. He is survived by his wife, Esther, three children, Debby Christy, Gus and Tom, and six grandchildren. The family requests donations be sent to Agia Sophia Academy, the American Heart Association, or Robinson Jewish Health Center.
