Thomas M. Panage
Also known as dear husband, dad, grandpa and great-grandpa, Tom was born on September 16, 1924 in Portland, Oregon, and passed away at 12:41 P.M. January 24, 2014 in a local hospital. He died from complications of pneumonia.
Tom graduated from Grand Coulee High School in Washington State in 1942. He served in World War II as a member of the US Army. After the war, he briefly attended Oregon State University, then was employed by Clyde Equipment Company (now Clyde/West) for 40 years. This is where he met Joyce King, to whom he was married for over 62 years.
Tom and Joyce were active members of Calvary Presbyterian Church for approximately 50 years. After his retirement, Tom enjoyed weekly volunteer positions at the State of Oregon Sports Hall of Fame Museum, and Hollywood Meals-On-Wheels.
He was healthy all his life, and is especially remembered for keeping up correspondence with many friends and family members. Everyone loved Tom!
Surviving is his wife Joyce, daughter Susan, son Alan, and their families. A memorial service to celebrate his life will be Thursday, February 6, 2014 at 1:00 P.M. at Calvary Presbyterian Church, 3516 NE 71 st Avenue in Portland.
