Vallance Johnson began his journey on this earth December 7, 1959. Although he was born during the beginning of winter, there was nothing cold about this warm and loving man who brought joy to everyone that knew him. His departure came early spring on March 29, 2022 which was fitting as one season flows into the next. Raised in Portland, OR, Val, as he was known by his friends & family was a familiar figure i9n and around the Irvington neighborhood where he grew up. Whether remembered by classmates from the old Adam High School where he graduated, or the streets where he could roam and be seen, or just out delivering newspapers on the paper route he enjoyed for years. Val was not someone you could not easily forget.
Always ready with a quick hello and a big smile he was a kind and respectful person, but also had a fun and silly side, and loved attention. While he would be terribly missed by his siblings and all his friends and family that was touched by his peaceful soul, we will hold him in our hearts forever.
Val was preceded in death by his loving mother Freddie Mae Johnson, sister Linda Allen (Johnson), brother Edward Green & Leland Green, nephew Shawn Taylor and brother-in-law Ulysses Diggs. He leaves behind to cherish his memory: Sister Althea Diggs, Armeal Johnson and Ramona Johnson, and tons of nieces and nephews.
