Velda Marie Bain

Velda loved growing up on a farm in Rufus, Oregon where she lived with her father, mother, brother and sister. They always had dogs on the farm and she loved playing with them.
During her childhood she enjoyed playing the piano and volleyball, but what she loved most was working in the fields with her father.
After graduation from Rufus High School in 1948, Velda attended Linfield College and then entered Good Samaritan Hospital School of Nursing. After completing their 3-year Nursing program, Velda met her husband Donald. They married on July 25, 1953 and had five children.
During their nearly 56 years of marriage, Velda devoted herself to her husband and family before returning to Nursing full time where she offered support and compassion to hundreds of patients who depended on her. Velda worked for nearly 25 years at the Rose City Clinic with Doctors Sam Miller and Robert Mullen.
