Viola, “Vi” was born December 22, 1933 in Westmore, Kansas. Vi had 6 siblings, who were all raised Baptist on the Dean
family farm. She moved to Oregon at the age of 24, where she joined two sisters already residing in Oregon.
Vi met Harold Janson when she was 28. She married Harold, who had three children from a previous marriage, Gail, Jeff
and Sue. Vi and Harold had two children together, Keith and Alice. All five children grew up together in Portland.
Years after Harold passed away, Vi moved into St. Anthony Village. A sister-in-law from Harold’s side of the family was
already living at St. Anthony’s when Vi moved in. Vi enjoyed volunteering at St. Anthony’s Coffee shop. She also helped out
in the memory Care unit by setting the tables for meal time. During her time at St. Anthony’s, she loved to paint, crochet,
collect dolls and complete word searches in her spare time. Of course, she enjoyed her favorite snack; Popcorn! St. Anthony
Village considered Vi a family member, as she spent nearly 20 years there.
Vi passed away on July 23, 2024 and will be missed by all.
