Virgil Allen Kelsaw Sr., (Katz), 89, was born to Bertha Scott and Frank Kelsaw on January 21, 1920 in Tamms, Illinois. He entered his eternal rest on December 25, 2009.
Virgil married Ida Bell Williams on March 24, 1941 in Charleston, Mississippi. Through this union three sons were born.
Virgil was drafted into the United States Army January 20, 1942, during World War II. He was honorably discharged as a Private on October 2, 1943.
Virgil and Ida moved west to Portland, Oregon in 1945. He worked for the Swan Island Ship Yard and also the Mount Hood Chemical Corp., for 34 years, as the chief chemist where he later retired in 1985.
Virgil's wife Ida, two sons, Milton and Virgil Jr., one brother, Eugene, two sisters, Mary and Grace precede him in death.
Virgil leaves to mourn his son Michael Sr. (Linda), grandchildren Michael Jr., Tina and Chris Kelsaw, one sister Lola Summers of Detroit, MI, sister-in-law Lulu Kelsaw, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who will truly miss him.
