Wallace H. Holland, Jr

Celebration of Life gathering will be held, 11:00 a.m., Friday, May 20th at the chapel at Rose City Cemetery and Funeral Home, 5625 NE Fremont St.

Wallace Houston Holland Jr., also known as “Wicky” was born on July 6, 1939 in Cleveland, Ohio to Wallace Houston Holland Sr. and Zenobia Mae Lawson Holland. Wicky passed away on May 13, 2016 at 5:30am at Cornerstone Care Option, a resident care facility located in Southeast Portland.

Wallace grew up in Cleveland Ohio and attended elementary and high school in the Cleveland School District. After high school, he joined the United States Air Force and subsequently took college courses at a local community college. In 1968, he relocated to Orange County California where he worked full time as a printing press operator and part-time as a printing instructor at a local trade school. After over thirty years in this profession and with the advent of the computer era, he transitioned to a customer service position at Xerox Corporation where he remained until his retirement in 2004. Wallace married Julia Johnson in 1989 and moved to Portland, OR in 1997 where he remained until his passing.

Wallace was preceded in death by his parents, Wallace Houston Holland, Sr. and Zenobia Holland, and his sister Janice Jones.

He is survived by his first wife, Mary Holland of Orange County, CA; his current wife Julia Holland; daughter Katrina Zenobia Holland-Calhoun and her husband Justin David Calhoun; Julia’s sons Anthony and Christopher Robertson married to Jane and Tracy Robertson; grandchildren Gabriella Marie Calhoun, Anthony Jorrell Robertson, Joseph Roberto Robertson of Portland, OR and Isaiah and Joshua Robertson of Keller, TX; a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives of Ohio, California, and Oregon.
