Wayne Jens Westling of Portland, Oregon passed away peacefully on June 23, 2015 after a long battle with dementia, he was 78 years old.
Grave side services will take place, Wednesday, July 1, 2015 at 11:30 a.m., at Rose City Cemetery, 5625 NE Fremont St., Portland.
Wayne was born on March 12, 1937 in McMinnville, Oregon to Leslie O. and Evelyn C. (Nelson) Westling. He graduated from Silverton High School, class of 1955. In 1957 he married Jeannette Olsen of Marquam Oregon. Wayne and Jeannette had three children. In 1991, Wayne married Terry Burnett. Terry passed away from cancer in 2000. Wayne loved spending time with his family, anything to do with the Portland Trailblazers, Country music and DANCING. His enthusiasm and expertise for dancing was evident when he hit the dance floor.
Wayne is survived by his children; Gregory Westling of Molalla, Paula Norcheim of Lebanon, Ohio and Jill (Jay) Johnson of Portland, grandchildren: Ryan Heinige, Kyle Mendenhall, Cody Mendenhall, Kayla Mendenhall, Jacob Mendenhall, Beau Nordheim and Seth Nordheim, Great grandchildren; Eli Mendenhall, Brayden Mendenhall, Aubree Mendenhall and Jennifer Mendenhall. He’s also survived by his siblings; Larry (Kathy) Westling of Bend, Judy (John) Kerr of LaPine and Mae (Price) Blanchard of Elizabeth, Colorado.
