Wesley L. Halbrook

October 27, 1968 — May 21, 2021

Wesley was born in Portland Oregon 10/27/1968 to Joe Halbrook and Joann Halbrook interrupting a fishing trip. He was 52 years old when he passed in his sleep May 21, 2021.

Wes attended Woodstock elementary, Cleveland and Franklin HIgh School. He went to work with his Dad after high school. Some of the places he worked were Oregon Roofers, Scaffold Erectors, Airgas and finally Duck Delivery. He was a very hard worker.

Wes met his wife Karen when she had a dead car battery . He was always doing things to help others. They were married for almost 23 years and made their home in the house Wes grew up in.

Playing sports and watching them on TV was something he loved. HIs favorite teams were the Raiders, Yankees and Portland Trail Blazers. He also enjoyed watching wrestling and quiz shows. He was a natural athlete. Growing up he played baseball.  During much of his life he played baseball/softball, basketball, golf, tennis, and biked, fished to name a few. Any sport he excelled at quickly.

Most of all Wes loved his family. Yearly he would spend 1 to 2 weeks at Barview Jetty campground for a family trip. There are a lot of memories there. Wes loved the Holidays and would prepare or help prepare delicious Christmas and Thanksgiving meals with his mom Joann. For years Friday night was pool at his brother Randy's and mom Joann's.  Saturday was poker night at his dad's. He was born into a family of fishermen and grew up fishing with family and friends.

The Halbrooks and Drums invited many people into their lives and loved them as family. The family home holds many memories.

Wes did everything 110 percent or more. He loved, worked, and played that way. Wes could talk to anyone and people knew him where ever he went. There will never be another quite like him and he will be greatly loved, missed and remembered always.

Wesley is survived by his wife Karen Halbrook, daughter Amanda Whaley, son Austin Halbrook, mother Joann Halbrook, uncle Dan Halbrook and aunt Helen Halbrook, brothers Timothy Halbrook, Randy Drum, Paul Sweeney, sisters Wendy West, Barbara HIcks, second mom Marlene Halbrook, and all the many cousins, nieces and nephews.
