- Wesley Cameron Howard October 20, 1983 ~ January 19, 2017 (age 33) -
Wesley Cameron Howard, our loveable, humorous, intellectually curious, and full-hearted
dude,
passed away this past Thursday - January 19th, 2017.
This note is from Wes' family; Ray Howard (the dad), Laurel Howard (the mom), and his brothers, Aaron and Nathan Howard.
There are quite literally a million reasons to love Wes and to celebrate his life. He was such a positive force in our lives and the lives of everyone that knew him. He saw the best in people and always looked out for the underdog.
When Wes was born he was dealt a remarkably difficult hand that would cover the span of his life - a spontaneous genetic mutation known as Neurofibromatosis (NF). And while NF shaped many aspects of his day-to-day routine, he didn't allow NF to dictate the terms of his life.
We haven't yet been able to process Wesley's death. We're currently reflecting on the positive impact he's had on all of us and how he brought us closer together and made us stronger as individuals and stronger as a family.
Life is such a strange, improbable, and awesome experience. All we know for sure right now is that we want to be kind to one another and tell the people closest to Wes and us that we love them.
* You're invited to Wesley's Celebration of Life which will take place on Sunday, February 5th, 2 pm, at Rose City Park Methodist Church (5830 NE Alameda St, Portland).
* Visit the Children's Tumor Foundation: Ending Neurofibromatosis Through Research (https://join.ctf.org/events/detail?eid=39590), if you'd like to make a donation in Wesley's name.
