William "Willie" di Stasio passed away in the arms of his loving wife of 49 years, Carolyn, on August 18, 2013. Willie was born in Bethlehem Pennsylvania, April 21, 1940 to Nick and Elda (Hersch) di Stasio.
Willie grew up in Colorado Springs, and he attended Colorado Teachers College in Greeley. There he met, his soon to be wife, standing in the registration line. Carolyn was confused so she turned to Willie and asked him, "Where do we go now?" He responded "follow me" and that she did. They got married June 12, 1964. After a few years (17 to be exact) of camping, hiking, hunting, golfing and fishing with their dogs, they decided to start a family.
On March 3, 1980, Billie Jo was born. Four years later they got the "bad news" that they were having twins. On January 15, 1984, Carolann and Kaylinn were born. When he wasn't home with his girls, he was teaching business in room B3 at Madison high school, from 1964-1995.
Willie is survived by his wife, Carolyn (Blevins) di Stasio; his sister, Dottie Chismar; his brother, John di Stasio; his daughters: Billie Jo di Stasio, Carolann di Stasio, and Kaylinn Hoyt; and his baby granddaughter, Matilinn Hoyt. He is also survived by Matt Hoyt, Steve Walker and many other relatives and friends of the family.
His sense of humor will never be forgotten. Years ago he commented that he did not want anything fancy, just tuck him in with the garbage. We think he is pleased that we were able to find a grave location near one of the garbage cans at Rose City Cemetery. Willie will be joined with a few of his best friends, his "mutts": Mitzi, Rufus and "Willie the weiner dog". Contributions can be made to either the American Diabetes Association or the Shriners Hospital for Children due to the excellent care they provided for his daughter Billie Jo.
