Willis Olan Allen

Willis Olan Allen, better known as "Bill", was born in Linden, Cass County, Texas, on March 14th, 1945, to R.P and Inez Allen. He attended Fairview High School in Linden, Texas. Bill confessed to Christ at an early age and became a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor F. L. Harrison. In 1963, he united with Vancouver Avenue First Baptist Church in Portland.

In 1954, Bill migrated to Portland, Oregon. He went to work at ESCO in 1955 and retired in 1997 after over forty-one years of service. He married Lillian Powell on August 29th, 1969. Bill loved and was greatly loved by family, friends and neighbors. He enjoyed socializing and was a long-standing and valued member of the Grand Niters Social Club, the LTO Club and the Elks Lodge. He was also given the title of "Mayor of Alberta Street" where he held court at the Radio Room on 11th and Alberta. Bill made everyone welcome at his home and always impressed with this outstanding BBQ and fried chicken "bird". He also took pride in maintaining his immaculate lawn and a fruitful garden.

On May 24th, 2022, the Lord called Bill home and relieved his pain. Preceding him in death were his parents, R.P. and Inez Allen, brother James Allen and a host of Aunts, Uncles and other relatives.

He leaves to mourn his passing, his wife of 52 years, Lillian Allen; children, Gregory R. Allen (Christina), Susan "Lisa" Harper (Michael Sr.), Beverly J. Coleman; grandchildren, Anthony Coleman, II, Brittinie Mitchell (Rah-Miel), Michael Harper, Jr. (Joelle), Gabriell Harper, LaRaya Patterson, LaMani Patterson, Quentin Allen; great-grandchildren, Ocean Coleman, Artist Coleman; one aunt, Georgia M. Allen, and a host of relatives and friends.
